Okay, so the business you’ve worked so hard to build up over the last several months is finally ready, and all that is left is to put the finishing touches to your website and you’re all set.

Creating a website, though, is a lot harder than people tend to realize which is why it pays dividends to hire a web development company and have them take care of the web design for you.

In terms of creating the ultimate business website, though, you need to ensure that you have the best landing page possible, which is much easier said than done. If you get your landing page wrong, the rest of your website will also suffer as a result.

To ensure that this doesn’t happen to you, here are 3 proven landing page tips.

What is a landing page?

Before we get things up and running today, we first need to ensure that you’re clear about what a landing page is.

A landing page is basically an individual standalone webpage that is designed exclusively as part of a marketing and advertising campaign.

As the name implies, it is the page in which visitors will “land” after clicking on a link to take them to your webpage.

Whereas web pages are designed to engage the readers and encourage interaction, landing pages are there to serve one purpose known as a call to action, and that call to action is to encourage visitors of your site to spend money on your business and use your company.

Landing page tips

Now that we’ve looked at what is a landing page, we next need to talk about creating more effective landing pages for your website.

Here are some useful tips:

Make them mobile friendly

First, one of the most important things you need to know when it comes to creating a landing page is to make it mobile friendly.

With more than 75% of internet users now doing the majority of their browsing on mobile devices, if your landing page is not optimized for mobile devices you will lose out on some serious traffic.

Get rid of the main navigation

The next tip when it comes to an efficient landing page is to remove the main navigation options at the top or side of the screen.

Once a visitor lands on your page, you want to keep them there for them to get the message you wish for them to get.

If your landing page is full of images, links, and text, you may find that visitors become distracted, and they may choose to leave the page before any conversions have taken place. This would effectively render the landing page useless, which is the last thing you want.

Use relevant headlines based upon your call to action

Another top tip when creating an effective landing page is to use headlines relevant to your call to action.

Your headline and CTA should both portray the message you wish to portray as clearly and concisely as possible.
