Web Design Trends for 2020
Like the modern world as we know it today, the highly complex world of web design is constantly changing and evolving.
Tools, techniques, and software that were once considered innovative are now becoming obsolete in a matter of years, which is why it’s important to stay ahead of the game when it comes to managing and overseeing your website.
A website is so much more than an online platform designed to help advertise your business, it is an extension of your business and is just as important as the services and products that you offer to your customers. As a result of this, you must get it right.
Because the world of web design is always evolving, it’s important to stay up to date with the various web design trends at the time. For that reason, here’s a look at several web design trends for 2020.
So far this year, one of the biggest (literally) web design trends for 2020 that we’ve encountered thus far is oversized text.
When we say oversized, we don’t just mean bold, we mean significantly oversized text, and there is an obvious reason for this. The reason why web designers are favouring oversized and exaggerated text is because they want to portray a clear message.
Many websites for example, will feature oversized text featuring their company name and/or logo, as well as ‘BUY NOW’ type texts that are impossible to miss.
When it comes to web design trends for 2020, it turns out that it isn’t just text that is getting an overhaul for the remainder of the year.
Expect to see more detailed illustrations on various websites, as images and drawings are proving to be aesthetic to the eye and very engaging when it comes to web design and traffic conversions.
Expect to see relevant illustrations and images on websites, covering topics relevant to the website they’re hosted on. For example, if your business sells sportswear, your website could very well include illustrations and drawings depicting sports and activities relevant to the products you sell.
Despite technology now looking like something we’d see in Sci-Fi epics set hundreds of years in the future, yet released a mere decade ago, in terms of web design, vintage is in.
Vintage style images and typography is very much in fashion at the moment, so expect more websites to have a vintage, even Parisian-styled theme and layout over the coming months.
Black and white
A few years ago, black and white colours and layouts fell unfashionable and instead, bold, bright, vivid, and vibrant colours were in fashion and utilized by web developers with great success.
Well, that was then, and this is now. Two colours that will always be fashionable are black and white, and as a result, you can expect to see them together on more websites designed in 2020.
With a distinct lack of colour, white text displayed on a black background with greyscale images not only looks modern and aesthetic, it also draws the eye of the visitor and ensures that they read what you want them to read.
